Inclusive Wellness Alliance (IWA) Liberia is a National Down Syndrome Organization and a non-governmental, non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for the rights, dignity, inclusion, and holistic well-being of persons with Down syndrome and other intellectual and developmental disabilities across Liberia.
IWA-Liberia began in May 2022 as a community-based effort led by parents, caregivers, and advocates committed to closing service, awareness, and policy gaps affecting persons with Down syndrome and their families.
As outreach expanded, the organization strengthened collaboration with local and international partners through knowledge exchange, experience sharing, and capacity-building initiatives to improve inclusive practice and advocacy impact.
Today, IWA-Liberia continues to grow toward all fifteen counties while advancing its long-term IWA-Liberia Village Initiative vision through strategic partnerships and resource mobilization.
These principles inform every decision we make and every program we create.
We believe every person has the right to full participation in family, community, school, and public life.
We uphold the inherent worth of every person and promote interactions grounded in respect and human dignity.
We work to ensure fair access to opportunities, services, and protections for persons with Down syndrome and their families.
We equip individuals and families with practical knowledge, confidence, and tools to thrive and make informed choices.
We build strong partnerships with communities, institutions, and development partners to scale inclusive impact.
We amplify the voices of persons with Down syndrome and push for policy and systems that protect their rights.
We commit to transparent leadership, responsible stewardship, and measurable progress in all programs.
We lead with empathy and care, ensuring every service is responsive to real family and community needs.
IWA-Liberia works in collaboration with these organizations and institutions.
These partnerships are primarily focused on knowledge exchange, experience sharing, and capacity-building training initiatives aimed at strengthening advocacy and improving the well-being of persons with Down syndrome and other intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Inclusive Wellness Alliance (IWA) Liberia currently has focal persons in the following counties.
Montserrado hosts the national headquarters, located in Monrovia along the Capitol Bypass.
As part of its efforts to expand across all fifteen counties, IWA-Liberia seeks partnerships with local and international stakeholders to ensure comprehensive service delivery for persons with Down syndrome and other intellectual and developmental disabilities.
